Our Structure
Pods
A group of 5-29 people who take regular action with Singing Resistance principles, and who have at least 2 leaders within the pod
Why pods? The pod structure is inspired by the pod-mapping model of the Bay Area Transformative Justice Collective as well as models like Bay Rising. We build pods to implement our singing actions while also practicing collective care in tight-knit groups with each other. Pods offer us a home base of relationships, while being able to join together with other pods to take larger scale action. The pod structure is infinitely replicable— allowing us to build a mass movement that has strong relational ties. We encourage anyone to find 4 other people and start a Singing Resistance pod!
Chapters
A group of 30+ people who take regular action with Singing Resistance principles, and includes a leadership team
Why chapters? Once a group has over 30 active participants, we call them a Singing Resistance Chapter. A chapter might function as one large pod, or, it may contain multiple pods within it. Chapters have leadership teams who coordinate amongst pods and organize larger scale actions.
Coordinating Hubs
A coordinating hub coordinates pods and/or chapters within a larger region, like a large metro area, a state or even multiple states.
Why Coordinating Hubs? It may be strategic for Singing Resistance pods or chapters to work together towards shared goals within their state or geographic region, as well as to build community, exchange learnings and share resources. Coordinating Hubs help coordinate strategy and build community amongst people in their region.
